No Curriculum — December 12, 2017

No Curriculum

lemoineinterventions

At Lemoine Interventions, we believe that in any form of addiction treatment a key to success is transitioning and integrating a patient from treatment back into the everyday world. It may be necessary to attend process-oriented groups, not lectures, dealing with real issues such as underlying causes and conditions, trauma, gender and sexual issues, self-esteem and the like. There is no curriculum or time table because addiction and alcoholism don’t work like that and neither can treatment and recovery.

Initial Stage — December 10, 2017

Initial Stage

lemoineinterventions

The initial stage of recovery is all about getting a sense of being clean and sober, and learning coping skills to deal with emotions, painful thoughts and feelings, and urges to use. When emotions are no longer numb, many in recovery feel overwhelming anxiety or depression, and they don’t know what to do. This is the most important stage, and it’s only the beginning of the journey.

It is so important for family members and people in recovery to understand this process.  It’s important to realize that completing a 28-day program doesn’t mean you’re done – you’ve only just begun. It takes time to build new coping skills. It takes time to develop connections with supportive people and 12-step or other support groups.  That’s why the initial stage is the longest stage of trauma and addiction recovery.

Success Rate — December 9, 2017

Success Rate

lemoineinterventions

According to research, interventions work 85% of the time. The 15% who do not seek treatment at the intervention meeting are more likely to accept treatment within two weeks, as long as the family members are willing to follow through on the set limitations and continue to gain recovery support for the whole family unit. Interventions are a successful process that helps the whole family and friends understand the cycle of addiction also it helps to create recovery resources.
